Advent week 2

Wow! What a busy few weeks we have had in Reception,  At the start of Advent, we made a class advent wreath, to symbolise the four weeks leading up to the birth of Jesus.  We have been learning  about the first Christmas and how the Church celebrates Christmas. We have changed our home corner into a stable, so that the children can enact the story in their 'Explore and learn'.  We have made and written a Christmas card in Literacy and of course written a  letter to Santa. In Mathematics we have been counting on and counting back from a given number.  This week we have enjoyed a taste of French culture with French food, songs and playing 'boules' during our French morning on Wednesday.
After lots of practice we performed 'C H R I S T M A S spells Christmas to our friends and family. All the children took part and were fantastic and a joy to watch.  On Thursday we were lucky to watch the dress rehearsal of Key Stage One's performance ' A Midwife in Crisis' which was enjoyed by all.
