Summer 1 Week 2

A warm welcome back after the Easter holidays, I hope you have had a lovely break. The children have loved talking about what they have been up to in the holidays.

A Belated Happy Birthday to Emily, Sienna and Martha who have celebrated their birthdays recently.

Reception class has had a feel of the jungle this week, as the role play area has been transformed into a Jungle Safari.   The children have enjoyed going on adventures in the wilderness, writing stories, painting animals, making models and small world play.

In Mathematics, we have been learning about pattern in numbers looking at odd and even numbers. We have been practising counting in two's.  Next week we will be counting in 10's and 5's.

In RE, we have started our new topic "Good News".  We have talked about what is good news, and the children have been encouraged to write their news on our 'RE board.'

Next week we will be continuing our topic of 'Big and Small' looking at the habitats of wild animals, We will also be setting up an outdoor Garden Centre and planting our hanging baskets.

A curriculum letter detailing the weekly themes for the term, together with information about what the children will be learning, will be sent out in the next few days. We will also be sending you out details of our Reception class school trip this year, which is on Friday 6th May 2016.

Wishing you all a happy weekend.
