Nearing the end of term
We have been having a very few busy weeks in Reception since the last blog has been posted.
We through enjoyed ourselves on World Book day which was on the 2nd of March and enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters.
Our Visit to Our Lady of Lourdes
On Thursday the 9th of March 2017 , we walked through Harpenden High street and attended a service which was led by Sister Regina. We spent some time looking at the features of the church after our service.
Over the past few weeks in class we have been enjoying learning about the changes that happen to the outdoor environment when spring is on its way. On Tuesday 14th March we walked around the school grounds and found some plants and flowers growing.
Science , Maths and Engineering Week
On Wednesday the 15th March we took part in our own class Science experiment called the Mentos challenge. We dropped some mentos in milk and water and no reaction happened. We then discussed what we thought might happen if we dropped mentos in cola and we thought it would go BOOM. We went outside to test this theory and when the mentos were dropped in the cola it fizzed up and out of the bottle. We then tried the mentos in different flavoured fizzy drinks, consisting of Lemonade , Cherryade and Orangeade and the same reaction happened.
Lent fundraising afternoon
On Friday the 24th March we used out money to spend on different stalls to help raise money for the Catholic Children’s Society. We enjoyed eating cakes , having milkshakes , having our nails painted , and lots more fun besides.
Thank you for your continued support with helping with your children's learning. Please fill in a magic moments sheet during the half term holiday.
